Development Squad

The side whose core is based on previous youth team players have started with 5 league games, 5 wins.  Last Saturday’s fixture was unfortunately cancelled but a fixture against Cinderford of the English National league one development side was arranged. A huge jump in the standard of opposition was to test the United.

Cinderford arrived with a large entourage, a professional outfit who looked very confident in becoming the victors of the day; however this was not to be the case, Crosskeys came out fighting, with a determined attitude that pleased not only the Coaches but also the watching crowd. Although they have not yet reached their full potential, the keys put in a good performance, and were helped by having the experienced 1st team player Geraint Gladwyn in the pack. The game was not without errors from both sides but Keys settled for a hard fought win 13- 12., the scorers being Centre Richard Torjesen 2 tries, and Outside Half Tom Kilby kicked a penalty.

Today’s game will also be a good test for the Team, as they entertain Llantrisant on Waunfawr park ko 2pm

Hopefully the season will go from strength to strength and players will advance into the full Keys squad.

Good luck boys and a big well done for the results so far.
