Cross Keys were convincing winners over a dissappointing Swansea side at Pandy Park on Friday evening.
Keys were the only side likely to win from the off and 3 penalties in quick succession by outside half Steffan Jones sent Keys on their way. It was Steffan himself who got Keys first try touching down after a mixup in the whites' defence, coupled with a charge down by Gareth David. Jones converting the try. Gerwyn Price got Keys second try after Keys attack proved to strong for the Whites. Jones again converting.
Back came Keys hungry for more and after heaping on the pressure, Keys got a third try just as the half time whistle was about to blow with a charge down by that man Steffan Jones saw them move in to a convincing lead as Jones crossed for his second try, with a conversion making it Keys 30 Swansea 0Half time score Cross Keys 30 Swansea 0
It seemed to be only a matter of time before Keys would secure the much sort after bonus point as they piled on the pressure once more. Jones put Keys further ahead with his fourth penalty of the night. Then came the bonus point try which was secured by make shift winger Dorian Jones, a late replacement for Kristian Baller just before kick off who rounded off a fine move with the Hodge brothers playing a key part. Jones this time was unsuccessful with the extras.
Gerwyn Price was next up to score for Keys as Gareth David's precise kick was finished off in style by the all action hooker. Jones again off target with the conversion attempt. Keys final try of a successful evening was reserved for substitute Sean Higgins whose fine indivdual try in the corner bought the chance of half a century but it wasn't to be as Jones pulled the conversion wide of the posts.
Overall a very convincing win with a fine pack performance paving the way for Keys first double of the season. Hard to single out indivduals after this fine all round performance for 1 to 15.Cross Keys Scorers:-
